居然不知道什么时候把牛仔裤撑爆掉了，屁屁后面一条大缝。也不知道在我自己发现之前被多少人看见了。丢死人了。一定是裤子质量太差！去年才买的呀，怎么就坏这么快呢。回来褪下来看看标签才知道，made in mexico。难怪！都是劣质货害人~~~~~~嗯，一定是这样没错！

Just getting bored to write things for a whole day. I'd rather copy some thoughtful stuff here just for fun, eh, not really, in fact I just want to write a new entry for my being-forgotten blog.

Xinyan gave me a book Swanson's Unwritten Rules of Management sometime ago and I just read it through. The good of this handbook is not only it has well-thought content, but also it's tiny size - takes only half an hour to read it through. Alright, the first part out of three is here .... Hold on, you ask me why I tear it apart into 3 parts? I'll tell you. Seriously, people don't like to read a long list of rules and even if they do, they will forget most of them quickly because of the overwhelming information. So I put the whole thing into 3 parts and hope readers could digest them bit by bit. Hmm.. and that way I will get 3 new entries for my blog rather than one *wink wink grin*. Alright, here you go finally.

1. Learn to say, "I don't know." If used when appropriate, it will be used often.
2. It's easier to get into something than to get out of it.
3. If you are not criticized, you may not be doing much.
4. Look for what is missing. Many know how to improve what's there; few can see what isn't there.
5. Presentation rule: when something appears on a slide presentation, assume the world knows about it and deal with it accordingly.
6. Work for a boss to whom you can tell it like it is. Remember, you can't pick your family, but you can pick your boss.
7. Constantly review developments to make sure that the actual benefits are what they were supposed to be. Avoid Newton's Law. (Fred's rmk: you know Newton's Law right? Force and counter-force!)
8. However menial and trivial your early assignments may appear, give them your best efforts.
9. Persistence or tenacity is the disposition to persevere in spite of difficulties, discouragement, or indifference. Don't be known as a good starter but a poor finisher!
10. In doing your project, don't wait for others; go after them and make sure it gets done.
11. Confirm the instructions you give others, and their commitments, in writing. Don't assume it will get done!

Whew! Got the first part done.

I do hope all guys came to my blog will read these rules. Even though the book's title says Management, it's not really only for management. I learnt quite a lot from this book and felt myself right as a counter-example of many rules in it. Strongly suggest all readers of my blog read it carefully and follow up the other 2 parts when they come.

At last, I would appreciate Xinyan for giving me this invaluable book.

I am experiencing another outage of free minutes again. This time I used up all my free minutes in half of the month. Fortunate enough, I realized the outage before being charged for extra minutes. Thank God, no huge phone bill again!

Now I am using Skype for my regular communication and it's sweet enough to offer free calls to destinations in US and Canada till the end of this year. The only requirement of calling landlines or mobiles from Skype is a subscription of Skype Out.

For any inbound calls, I am using Skype as well. My friends, if you want to call me please call 405-445-5318 from any kind of phones. The Skype In number is just like any other local number, except the call will be forwarded to my computer. So don't worry about any extra fee you will be charged. BTW, I am not abandoning my cell phone. From next billing cycle, it will be upgraded to a less cheaper plan and keeps ring ring for me.

1. You wake up in hospital, next to a world famous violinist connected to you with various tubes. You've been kidnapped by the Music Appreciation Society. Aware of the maestro's impending death, they hooked you up to the violinist. If you stay connected, he will be totally cured in nine months. You are unlikely to suffer harm. No one else can save him. Do you have an obligation to stay connected?
2. In the path of a runaway trolley car are five people who will definitely be killed unless you, a bystander, flip a switch which will divert it on to another track, where it will kill one person. Should you flip the switch?
3. Again, the runaway trolley car. You're standing on a bridge above and decide to jump on the track to block the trolley car. You will die, but five people on the track will be saved. But you are too light to stop it. Next to you is a fat man. He would certainly block the trolley, although he'd undoubtedly die. A small nudge and he'd fall right onto the track below. No one would ever know. Should you push him?
4. A rock falls and blocks the exit of a cave you and five other tourists are exploring. You spot a hole elsewhere and decide to let Big Jack out first. A man of generous proportions, he gets stuck. There is no other way out.

   The tide is rising and, unless you get out soon, everyone but Big Jack (whose head is sticking out of the cave) will inevitably drown. Searching through your backpack, you find a stick of dynamite. It will not move the rock, but will certainly blast Big Jack out of the hole. He pleads for his life; he does not want to die, but neither do you and your four companions. Should you blast him out?

I kept this as a draft for a long time, and forget where I found it. My answer to this is YNNY. What's yours? I will be thankful to say your opinion here.

It seems everyone has started blogging. I thought it's time to write something down.

First of all, I have to choose a nice theme for my space. Unfortunately, I can't find any perfect theme for me. Some of them have good color scheme, but the background pictures are silly. Others may have awesome background, but the round curve annoys me a lot. Does Microsoft treat everyone like novice, and always provide idiot-proof softwares to everybody. Hope I can get direct control to the underneath DHTML code of my space. Actually, I can't expect everyone is anesthetist like me^_^! So I will rate 4 out of 5 for MSN Spaces.

Ok, after I tackled the theme problem, I have to think about what I want to write down. I will mainly focus on the trivial things in my life, the feelings in God, and the topics in technical and scientific domain.
